Published! The Complete Writer’s Guide to Non-Traditional Publishing recently went through major revisions and the Second Edition is now available on Amazon. Since the first edition in 2012 many huge advances in technology have changed the landscape even more. We no longer advocate using ANY subsidy publishers. It is rare to ever recoup your expense with one of their books. Yet if you use Amazon’s free resources and build a “platform,” you can make money writing, many authors are finding they can make a living as well.

Back in 2012, while researching publishing options, it became very clear that many writers didn’t know anything about these aspects of the writing industry and there were still so many questions to be answered.  We wrote the book to answer many of those questions.  Over the past six years technology has grown and those who can learn to use social marketing to their advantage can find success.

In the 2018 edition of Published! We provide the reader step-by-step instructions on how to publish the book themselves, we offer tips on editing, building your marketing platform, and even included information on creating audio books. Purchase the book on Amazon and save yourself thousands of dollars (and apply some of your savings to some good professional editing).

Dona Lee (Musitano) is the author of both fiction and non-fiction books. She is an editor, coach, ghostwriter, bookstore owner, and now an “author’s services provider,” helping authors format and publish their own books. Her short stories have been included in numerous anthologies, she writes features for local magazines and newspapers and led the Florida Writer’s Association of Manatee for 12 years, as well as writing and publishing the monthly newsletter for the Sarasota Fiction Writers, “Plotting Success.”

Al Musitano, the author of several books including Published! A Complete Guide to Nontraditional Publishing, has been published in anthologies and wrote a local newspaper column for the Bradenton Herald. He found his background in art and engineering blended perfectly to design book covers and graphics on websites. Samples can be viewed here.
